Biomass-to-ethanol a la BlueFire

Orange County Metro writes (http://www.ocmetro.com/t-BlueFire_to_develop_green_waste_facility_in_South_Korea_12_15_08.aspx) that  Irvine, CA-based BlueFire Ethanol Fuels Inc (EBB:BFRE) http://www.bluefireethanol.com/ has inked a deal to design a new cellulosic center in South Korea. The company specializes in converting cellulosic, or green waste, materials to ethanol using its Concentrated Acid Hydrolysis patented process.  Such a plant would be able to move a country with biologic wastes from agriculture toward energy self-sufficiency, using wood waste, urban trash, straw from wheat or rice, etc.

The BlueFire website offers a video of a similar installation in Izumi, a small city of 50,000 in the southern tip of Japan.
